TJ Bell's Run at 'Vegas is No Gamble

September 27, 2003 Concord, NC- Las Vegas is a town for those who wish to take risks at the gaming tables. But when you're a rookie in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, you'd best leave your "roll of the dice" at the casinos, and play a sure bet at the track.

September 24, 2003 Concord, NC- TJ Bell will drive the No.53 Pro Motion/ A Special Wish Foundation Ford at Las Vegas this Saturday. Bell, a Raybestos Rookie of the Year contender filled in for Briggs this past week at Fontana. Briggs, also a Raybestos Rookie contender, drove the No. 51 truck for owner Rick Ware.

"First of all, I'm not retiring," said Briggs who finished 14th in the season opener at Daytona. "My business has taken off, and has required more of my attention recently."

"TJ was available, and it just seemed like a good fit for Fontana and Las Vegas," added Briggs.

TJ Bell accomplishes original goal of the year

(Concord, NC - August 3, 2003) The month of July for TJ Bell and the No. 86 A Special Wish Foundation Chevy has run into nothing but bad luck. The start of August was a different story for the No. 86 NCTS team. Bell was happy with their 25th place finish.

"It's not the top twenty finish we were aiming for," commented Bell. "But it's a start. We had a great truck going into the race. It was a fast and fun track." Some minor incidents at the beginning of the race hindered the top twenty finish. During the first caution, another truck avoiding a spinning truck came up into the No. 86 A Special Wish Foundation Chevy causing some cosmetic damage to the left front side and a cut tire. This cost Bell to go a lap down.

TJ Bell was definitely feeling the

(July 20, 2003 - Concord, NC) TJ Bell and his No. 86 Speed Motorsports Management Chevy still have not had luck on their side. Bell even carried a small "tinker bell" sticker over his left shoulder, hoping she would give him the luck he needed. No such luck! With the weekend beginning with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series qualifying getting rained out, the team had to start the Missouri - Illinois Dodge Dealers Ram Tough 200 by their position in the points standing.

For the third week in a row, bad luck has dominated

(Concord, NC - July 12, 2003) After two weeks of bad luck and a smashed up Craftsman Chevy Truck, TJ Bell was trying to keep his focus on his primary goal of the season. "We were trying to go back to square one this weekend at the Kentucky Speedway by concentrating on keeping the truck in one piece and finishing the race," commented Bell. "Unfortunately, we've had problems all weekend long." When Bell and his team arrived and ran practice for the Built Ford Tough 225, the No. 86 Speed Motorsports Management Chevy was only running on 7 cylinders.
